Pastor

Sung Cho has been called by the membership of the church to be our next Pastor as of November 11, 2018! He will start full time in mid January 2019.

Sung’s wife, Yerae, was raised by missionary parents in Africa and was educated in Europe; she’s enthusiastic about her husband’s new calling. But Sung is no stranger to Maryland, since in his younger days he lived in Laurel.

Sung’s pulpit experience grew from being English Ministry Pastor at Chinese Christian & Missionary Church, Arlington Virginia for 5 years, ending in 2016 (Note his heritage is not Chinese, but Korean).  Since then, he has been Adjunct Professor teaching The Gospels and Acts at Washington University of Virginia, and is presently Adjunct Professor at The Master’s Seminary (Springfield, VA), teaching Greek Exegesis.

Sung has a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Maryland, 2 majors: Accounting and Finance. He holds a Master of Theology, Concentration: New Testament, from Capital Bible Seminary. He is currently in final stages of pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy, Concentration: New Testament, at Catholic University of America.

Music Minister

Steve Conrad has been on staff on a part-time basis since 1989.

His primary responsibilities are to encourage and support others in the music ministry, direct the ladies ensemble, play the piano and organ, and maintain the pianos (his “other job” is being a piano technician).

Preparation

Steve grew up attending a denominational church but did not receive Jesus as Savior and Lord until after college (Bachelor of Music, University of Maryland).

The Lord soon began to lead away from secular music and give a desire to please God and learn more about His plan for music (and life in general). This included accompanying and leading church choirs, attending church music seminars and also getting a Biblical Studies Certificate from Capital Bible Seminary.

Family

Steve has been married to Michelle since 1976. They have six children and eight grandchildren
